This was the last trip into the High Uinta Mountains for both my husband Butch and his favorite steed, Preacher. He packed our gear on Banjo, 1/4 Belgium draft and 3/4 Quarter horse. I enlisted behind, taking in the scenic beauty of the rugged terrain on a horse named Sackett. It seemed then as it does now, that someone has to break trail and show leadership in unfamiliar territory. Butch and Preacher were always the happiest finding the way. Me? I was satisfied to follow. Now, I miss them both.
